Digital Painting

This is a sample of my digital painting capabilities, necessary in 2D work and for coloring concept art effectively. Both the above samples began as a good pencil drawing, which I then inked by hand. I only ink the main lines and avoid filling in areas if the drawing is going to be converted into a digital painting. The stray pencil markings then get erased, either by hand or digitally. Coloring occurs in Adobe Photoshop, and may include painting or color-filling areas to get a basic, flat color layer down. This color layer then gets polished to give depth using a host of tools. Finally, any extra details are added to complete the composition.

The two characters above are Delta and Mason. Delta was utilized as concept art for the project n0NsentiEnce, and I later transferred her into 3D to become the player character of that game. Mason is an original character of my own design, and exists only in 2D currently.
