n0NsentiEnce was a project I worked on during the 2007-2008 academic year as part of Existential Quantification Productions (EQP). I was the Lead Artist/Art Director for this project; character overlord and aesthetic unifier. My contributions included the characters Delta, jU5t33Nz, Merlin, JESS, and the Touretts Turret. Unfortunately not all of these characters could be implemented. In addition to my character work, I also provided a large number of environmental object textures.
n0NsentiEnce is an experiment at combining aspects of the survival horror genre with a distinctly dark sense of humor. To accomplish this, it is formed on a basis of action/puzzle.
The Premise:
You are the newly reanimated cyborg Delta attempting to escape the confines of the derelict laboratory in which you were created. You are tasked with finding clues about who you were before you were resurrected as half-machine, why you were dead, and who put you back together. Along the way you must see different sides of the truth by perceiving parallel realities, battle your own psychosis made manifest, encounter robots that seem to suffer from their own mental diseases, and control alternate forms of yourself. Your guide through this ordeal is the delightfully unsettling Merlin, who just might be the most mentally stable thing in the entire laboratory. You are faced with the constant re-emergence of a single question: just how much of this is real, and how much of this is in your head?
n0NsentiEnce was on display at the 2008 RPI GameFest.
